In August 1919, two Swiss travelers arrived at the foot of Mt. Olympus with the romantic goal to be the first mortals ever to reach the top of the residence of the ancient Gods. When they asked local goat hunter Christos Kakalos -a man who knew the mountain better than anyone-for guidance, he shouted: “Impossible! Only the eagles can reach the peaks of Olympus”.
